Email shotcake@xeviora.com and a human will answer, usually within two business days. Telling us your macOS version and what you were doing when it went wrong makes it much faster.

Shotcake says it has no Screen Recording permission, but I already turned it on

macOS only applies that permission when the app restarts. That step is easy to miss:

  • Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording.
  • Turn on Shotcake.
  • Quit Shotcake and open it again — the permission does nothing until you do.

Where do my screenshots go?

Settings → Export → Save to decides the folder. If it says “Ask every time”, Shotcake shows a save panel on every save. Everything you capture also lands in the capture library (Window → Capture Library), which lives inside Shotcake's own container and keeps your annotations editable.

A keyboard shortcut does nothing

macOS or another app probably owns it already. Open Settings → Hotkeys — conflicts are reported right under the list, and you can record a different shortcut by clicking the field.

Requirements
